This frigate, was built in England and it is an historic testimony with more than 100 existence years. In 1897, became the first modern school frigate Argentina and represented the most advance in sailboat of those type. It was needed 90 men in the demanding maneuvers. It is also testimony to the days of naval formation Argentina youth because it was specially built for this purpose, educating young future Navy officers. It takes the name of the school founder Pte Domingo F. Sarmiento, propeller Navy and maritime awareness. It made 39 trips around the world covering 1,000,000 nautical miles always on peace missions and stopped sailing in 1961. Currently it is moored at Dock III of Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires, turned in a museum.
