Villa María Ranch House was founded by Vicente Pereda in the late nineteenth century and since its origin was a forerunner establishment of the livestock area in the way to Cañuelas. It comprises 655 acres with a unique landscape and architectural heritage. The original tower was purchased in 1890. In 1919, his son Celedonio Pereda entrusted the famous architect Alejandro Bustillo the construction of the actual norman tudor style house whose materials were brought from Europe, to be used as a summer residence. The landscaper Charles Thays worked on its landscaping. The combination of many tree species, the colorful changing of more than 300 species that are perceived in different seasons and footpaths make the park an exceptional setting.
Since then and for decades Villa Maria starred in countless family and social events who wrote much of the Argentina history.
