Location: 1550, Tristán Achával Rodríguez. Costanera Sur
It is a green area of 360 hectares with unique features within the city. Its lands were taken from the river and artificially filled up, but over the years a large number of plant species and fauna spontaneously established themselves here.
A few blocks from the Financial City, this space has unique features offering people possibility of coming into close contact with wildish nature. Walking paths were designed, there are beautiful views of both the river and the city, and it can be visited on foot or by bicycle, there are different paths that lead down to the river.
A great variety of trees, herbs, and delta typical shrubs and plants of the River Plate shores. Cat tail, rush,red mace, are some of the plants found in the lagoons and marshes inhabited Pampas birds.There also different fish species, amphibians, reptiles, and some mammals that can be found though it is not easy to spot them. The commonest plant species found is cortadera (cortaderia selloana) occupying great extensions of the reserve teeming with fauna. Some examples are: “cuis” (cavia pamparum), ophidians, “overo” lizards (tupinambis teguixin) and a great many kinds of insects.
Some of the birds species present are: verdonas (embernagra platensis), tijeretas (tyrannus savanna), chingolos (zonotrichia capensis), mistos (sicalis luteolas), jilgueros (sicalis flaveola).
The area was declared a Natural Park and Reservation Zone.
